Firefox and D3: Zoom + Pan bug

I have a simple code here some map with zoom+pan effect. It work fine on Opera, Chrome even IE. But Firefox do not show it.-

If you open "Inspector" panel, you'll see has same values (translation, scale, path, d**) on Firefox than the other, but don't render properly.

Obviously is Firefox's bug cause on other browser works nice and D3 generate the code correctly.-

And here same map without zoom+pan effects, Firefox show it nice. Some google do not gave me any reference, console operation give the right value.

Any idea what's going wrong?

Here an snapshot. Can you see path.county's size?

(*) code take it from Mike's site: http://bl.ocks.org/mbostock/5914438 He use:

var projection = d3.geo.mercator() .scale((1 << 12) / 2 / Math.PI) .translate([width / 2, height / 2]); and var zoom = d3.behavior.zoom() .scale(projection.scale() * 2 * Math.PI) .scaleExtent([1 << 11, 1 << 14]) .translate([width - center[0], height - center[1]]) .on("zoom", zoomed);

(**)

I hope it helps.

Zoom & Panning issue on MAC Safari browser [closed]

Want to improve this question? Update the question so it's on-topic for Stack Overflow.

I have created an svg using d3 v3 and am performing zoom & pan using customized code which is using transform: translate(x,y) scale(a) attributes. Also, I am having a recenter button to recenter it. Code is working fine in Chrome & Firefox and all Windows browsers but not consistent behavior on MAC OS Safari browser. Issue: Using + & - button Zoom In & Zoom Out is working fine. Post clicking the recenter button, it is working as expected. In case, we pan the tree and try to perform Zoom In or Zoom Out then the svg moves either to top left or to bottom right. I have already used transform-origin: center to keep it sticked to center (working fine in Windows browsers but not on Safari)

Also, when trying to perform Zoom using mousewheel, it is showing some weird behavior and it is not getting scaled as per the +-0.25 scale value. It either moves to top scale 2 or bottom scale 0.25 When trying to perform zoom using ctrl + mouse wheel it works fine as desired.

Geographical Information Management and Applications (GIMA)

Geographical information is everywhere. Think of physical planning, risk management, navigation systems, location based services, movement analysis, augmented reality, increasing use of maps and volunteered geographical information. This is why Geographical Information Management and Applications (GIMA) is such a relevant and complete Master of Science programme it focuses on the management and application of geographical information from a scientific perspective.

In addition, there are two aspects which make GIMA a unique programme: the blended learning concept and the co-operation between four renowned Dutch universities. GIMA is also an international programme. It does not only target Dutch bachelors, but also foreign bachelors and professionals with equivalent pre-education.

Blended learning

GIMA is a blended learning Master's programme, which means that most of the time you are studying from the place where you think you can study best (e.g. at home, or your local library). Students study full time (2 yrs.) or part time (4 yrs.). For the first half of the programme there are only four short contact periods per year, one at each partner university. During those contact periods (with a duration of two weeks) you are supposed to be present in person but for the rest of the year you can study through our electronic learning environment from wherever you are. Obviously, the same holds for the individual thesis research project and internship, each of 6 (full time) or 12 (part time) months length in the last half of the programme.

Joint venture

The Master’s programme of GIMA is the result of a unique joint venture between four Dutch universities, each with a good reputation in its field and with its own traditions:

  • Utrecht University, with a focus on geography and planning
  • Delft University of Technology, with a focus on the legal, organisational and technical aspects of geo-information handling
  • University of Twente, with a focus on technical and application oriented courses for developing countries
  • Wageningen University, with a focus on agricultural and rural applications.

You will thus get the best from geo-information experts from four universities in the Netherlands. Since the start of the programme in 2003, GIMA has become one of the most popular and well evaluated Master's programmes on geo-information applications and management in the Netherlands and our community keeps growing.
